According to local media reports, Egypt’s President has announced the country’s state of emergency has been extended for another three months. The extension comes into force today. The armed forces and police have been directed ‘take the necessary steps to confront the dangers of terrorism, including its financing, maintain security throughout the country, protect public and private property, and save the lives of citizens’.
