Re-entry Procedures Simplified

Qatar’s Government Communication Office has announced re-entry procedures for travellers have been simplified. Under the simplified procedures which come into force on 29 November 2020, a Coronavirus test will be required for those returning to the country for those who haven’t had a test within 48 hours before traveling to Doha by one of the Public Health Ministry’s accredited Coronavirus Testing Centres. A second test will be conducted on the sixth day after they have arrived. Those returning will continue to have to have a yellow status on the Ehteraz application until the end of the seventh day from the date of arrival. Residents who are currently in Qatar and who want to travel and return will automatically receive an exceptional entry permit when they leave. The resident or their employer will be able to print this out from the Interior Ministry’s website at any point after the resident has left Qatar. This means, requests will no longer need to be submitted through the Qatar Portal website. The permit will be available automatically after registering the resident’s departure from Qatar. The automatic exceptional entry permit service will not be available for residents who are currently outside Qatar. They will still have to obtain the exceptional return permit via the Qatar Portal website if they want to return. The isolation period will be one week after arriving in the country, regardless of destination. The home isolation requirement will apply to those coming from countries on the Public Health Ministry’s Green List. Hotel isolation is mandatory for those coming from countries which are not included in the Green List. The isolation period for those who use shared isolation facilities will be two weeks in line with national and international epidemiology statistics. Histoire complète
