The UN’s General Assembly has adopted a Saudi proposal to coordinate efforts to tackle Coronavirus. It was proposed as part of the Kingdom’s chairmanship of the G20 summit. Saudi Arabia’s representative to the UN said the pandemic has shown the international system for facing viruses is very weak so it is important to collaborate and coordinate international efforts. They added the decision was drafted based on the output of the G20 summit in March 2020.
