Qatar’s Commerce and Industry Ministry has announced restaurants can reopen at 100% capacity if they obtain a Qatar Clean certificate instead of 50%. However, they will have to comply with the relevant anti-Coronavirus measures published by the Public Health and Municipality and Environment Ministries. To get the certificate they will have to register for the Qatar Clean certificate on the website www.qatarclean.com and download the restaurant checklist form, fill in the information required and send it to restaurants@qatarclean.
A Decision to this effect has been issued. It will come into force on 1 September 2020. Restaurants which do not have a Qatar Clean certificate can reopen at 30% activity providing they comply with the relevant anti-Coronavirus measures published by the Public Health and Municipality and Environment Ministries. Under the Decision, all restaurant managers will have to ensure customers are only allowed to enter after they show a green status on the Ehteraz application. Open buffet services are not allowed and predefined menus must be used. Shisha is not allowed and customers not wearing face masks will not be allowed in. The temperatures of customers have to be taken at entrances and individuals who have a temperature of more than 38 degrees Celsius will not be able to enter the restaurant. Hand sanitisers will have to be provided at all restaurant facilities and stickers have to be placed on floors to ensure social distancing rules are complied with. Tables should be rearranged to ensure social distancing rules are complied with. Up to five people will be allowed to sit at a table but members of the same family are exempt from this.
Customers should pay with bank cards and avoid using paper currencies. Smoking at restaurant entrances will be banned and all ashtrays will be removed. Customers or limousine drivers will be banned from gathering at restaurant entrance. The temperatures of restaurant workers should be checked and measured constantly and employees who show Coronavirus symptoms should be isolated. The relevant authorities should be advised to take the necessary anti-Coronavirus measures. All restaurant facilities, including administrative offices, warehouses, staff accommodation and transport facilities of the restaurant will have to be constantly sterilised.
