Qatar’s Civil Aviation Authority has announced those looking to leave the country must have a confirmed booking for 14 days with designated quarantine hotels in the country. Dusit Doha, The Westin Doha Hotel & Spa, TIME Rako Hotel, The Town Hotel, Ezdan Hotel Doha – Tower 2, Marriott Marquis City Center Doha Hotel, AlRayyan Hotel Doha, Curio Collection by Hilton, City Centre Rotana Doha, Kingsgate Hotel Doha, Millennium Central Doha, Millennium Plaza Doha, Wyndham Grand Regency Doha, DusitD2 Salwa Doha, Ezdan Hotel Doha – Tower 1, Grand Regal Hotel, Holiday Villa Hotel & Residence, K108 Hotel, La Villa Hotel and Safir Hotel have all been designated as quarantine hotels. Qatari nationals, their travelling companions, those with Permanent Resident Cards or other approved visa holders can leave the country and return between now and 31 July. From 1 August, pre-approved QID resident permit holders will also be able to travel to Qatar. However, full details are yet to be announced. A Welcome Home Package should not be brought until approval to travel to Qatar has been given.
The measure has been confirmed in Qatar Circular No; 12/2020. The Circular was issued to airlines and travel agents. It will have to be prepaid against a non-refundable voucher which has obtained from the hotel through the Discover Qatar website. Where travel dates into Doha are amended, hotel reservations can be changed depending on availability. Those ‘currently outside Qatar, must also have a confirmed hotel booking in one of the quarantine hotels at the time of checking in for their flights to Doha.
