Saudi Arabia’s Finance Minister has announced amendments to the decision of the General Corporation for Social Insurance regarding have been approved. The amendments are to the Implementing Regulations of the Unemployment Insurance Law. Under the amendments, Article 6(7) of the Implementing Regulations has been replaced. It now states ‘the condition of “the subscriber shouldn’t have left the work at his own will’. This means they have not left work because they don’t wish to continue in it. Leaving the job shouldn’t be because they resign or reach a new agreement with the employer to end the work contract or because the fixed term contract was not renewed because the subscriber didn’t want to renew it.
