Two million Travel After Travel Bans Lifted

Nearly 2 million people have travelled between provinces after the government lifted a ban to restrict mobility because of COVID-19. Authorities have recently changed the rules to allow the under18s to travel with their families. However, units from the Health Ministry are also measuring the temperatures of travellers at checkpoints. Local carriers, including Turkish Airlines, have resumed domestic flights as of 1 June 2020. The authorities have also reported that travel permits have been issued to more than 910,000 people, who are 65 and above and their companions, after the government eased travel restrictions for this age group. The elderly are now allowed to make a one-way trip and stay in their destinations for at least one month before returning. The curfew for children under 18 and elderly aged above 65 remains in effect. Elderly can only go out on Sundays and teens are allowed to leave their homes two days a week, on Wednesdays and Fridays. Histoire complète
