New anti-Coronavirus Measures for Airports Announced

Turkey’s Civil Aviation Authority has announced new anti-Coronvirus measures for airports in the country. The measures are part of the Coronavirus certification scheme. Only passengers and their companions will be allowed into airports. All passengers will have to wear face masks and the majority of cabin luggage will be banned. However, laptop computers, handbags and necessary items for toddlers will be allowed. Passengers with fevers, coughs or respiratory problems will be referred to health care units. Passengers should check-in online and use contactless payments as much as possible and comply with social distancing rules at security checkpoints and check-in areas. In food courts, print menus will be replaced with digital menus and if it is considered necessary airport restaurants will have to provide disposable cutlery, glasses and other items. Central ventilation systems will only circulate fresh air in airports and children’s playgrounds, smoking rooms and prayer rooms will have limited accessibility. Airport operators who fail to comply will face administrative action. Turkish Airlines plan to resume their domestic flights on 4 June and their international flights on 10 June. Histoire complète
