Oman’s Supreme Anti-Coronavirus Committee has announced a range of new measures to tackle Coronavirus in the Sultanate, including lifting the lock down in Muscat. The lock down will be lifted from 29 May 2020. The Committee also urged public and private employers to set policies, regulations and procedures to ensure their employees, customers and others are protected against Coronavirus. The Committee also decided its decisions discharging employees from working from their offices have been repealed. It means offices will reopen on 31 May but will not be allowed to be more than 50% full. Some employees who have pending annual leave will not have to return to offices. The Heads of Units including Ministers and their counterparts will be able to take the decisions to secure the regular performance of their respective Government units, including the standard flow of services.
