Total Lock Down Will Not be Extended

Kuwait’s Interior Minister has announced the country’s total down will not be extended when it ends on 30 May. The Minister made the announcement following a Decision by the country’s Council of Ministers. However, a partial lock down will continue to be in force and details will be announced on Thursday. The total lock down was introduced on 10 May and was aimed at tackling increasing Coronavirus cases in the country.

Elsewhere, the country’s Civil Service Commission announced special financial support for front line workers in the health and interior ministries, particularly for those infected with Coronavirus. A Government spokesman added said the Council of Ministers has asked the Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Minister to look into the feasibility of reopening mosques in the country. The feasibility study should include how entities attached to mosques could resume their work.
