Oman’s Public Authority for Consumer Protection Authority has announced it has launched a Taakad smart application.
It will monitor the prices of goods and products in shopping centres using information from the Authority’s database.
It includes the prices of thousands of goods which will help monitor prices and prevent manipulations to clamp down on price rule violations.
In the initial roll-out of the smart application, 90 shopping centres will be covered. It can be used by inspectors and law enforcement officers to verify the prices set by the Authority are respected.
