Lock Down Restrictions Could be Tightened

Egypt’s President has warned lock down measures in the country could be tightened The warning comes amid concerns over the level of compliance with the lock down., especially in terms of social distancing and hygiene standards. Universities, schools, mosques and churches have already been closed and all international air travel has been suspended. A night curfew has also been introduced. However, there are concerns over the numbers visiting outdoor markets and using communal taxis as well as cars being packed with users not wearing face masks. Public parks were also closed and access to streets running parallel to the Nile were restricted to pedestrians.
