Private Schools Should Not Sack Teachers

Sharjah’s Private Education Authority has announced private schools should not sack teachers. In addition, they should not reduce their salaries or put them on unpaid leave without the appropriate approvals. To get approval schools must submit a plan for the 2019-2020 academic years. Schools should also ensure the quality of distance education is not affected, the number of students in each class does not increase and the number of teaching hours per teacher does not increase. In addition, they should ensure the number of classes taught per teacher does not increase and the number of core classes for students does not decrease. If any of these things has already occurred, the school should inform the Authority in writing. Private schools who do any of these things without approval will have to notify the Authority in writing and may face penalties, which could include their license being cancelled. Histoire complète
