The Dubai Municipality has closed 15 food establishments for violating health requirements. 24% of establishments were non-compliant establishments but 12% of food establishments obtained excellent evaluation during inspections. The municipality noted the development of a “food watch” system which has facilitated the exchange of information between regulatory authorities, institutions, service providers and consumers and has enabled a intelligent risk based system.
