Temporary Halt to Prison Sentences for Personal Debt

Saudi Arabia has called a temporary halt to prison sentences for individuals who have been convicted in private cases involving unpaid debts. According to the Saudi Press Agency King Salman has ordered that the implementation of final judgments and orders in these cases be suspended. Hehas also ordered the immediate, temporary release of prisoners who are already serving time for debt-related convictions, The king has also suspended all orders and judgments granting an estranged parent child-visitation rights.
