Curfew to be Imposed in Some North Sinai Areas

Egypt’s President has approved a Decree imposing a curfew in some North Sinai areas. Egypt Presidential Decree No. 596/2020 has been issued in the Official Gazette. Under the Decree, roaming the area from the east of the Tel Rafah passing by the international border line and Awja west of Arish to Mount Halal is banned between 7pm and 6am. The curfew is imposed west of Arish to the Mediterranean coastline to the international border in Rafah. In the south, it extends south of Mount Halal to Awja on the international border. The area on the international road from the checkpoint of al-Midan to the west entrance of the city of Arish will have a curfew from 1am to 5am.
