Entry Permits for Domestic Workers to be Reissued

The UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship has announced entry permits for domestic workers will start to be reissued. They have approved the move together with the National Authority for Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management. The issuing of work permits for foreigners employed by Government and semi-Government entities as well as vital entities in the country will also resume.. Applicants will be able to submit applications via the Authority’s website. Anti-Coronavirus measures will have to be adopted at state borders and a negative Coronavirus test will have to be presented before they are able to enter the country. Employers will have to ensure arrivals enter a 14-day isolation period on arrival, together with the relevant bodies. The Authority added it will continue to allow domestic workers from any country with valid residency permits to enter. However, their employer will have to submit applications via the Authority’s website at www.ica.gov.ae. The Authority went on to emphasise the pre-testing procedures before visiting the country should be complied with in line with the relevant anti-Coronavirus measures. Full story
