Guidelines for Reopening Private Schools in Dubai and Sharjah Issued

Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority and Sharjah’s Private Education Authority have announced they have issued guideline for reopening private schools in the respective Emirates. Under the guidelines, private schools will have to appoint a special health and safety employee top be able to reopen. Schools will also have to allocate rooms, in school clinics, to isolate infected people and suspected cases with Coronavirus and ensure the medical staff in the school clinic have completed the Covid-19 training, before joining the school. Schools should isolate any student, teacher, or employee with Coronavirus symptoms , inform parents of sick students and then send them to hospital .The student will not be allowed to return to school unless they have a negative PCR test and a clinical evaluation confirmation that they are not likely to be infected with the virus. Where the result is negative and the evaluation stated they may be infected with the virus, they must self isolate for 14 days. If the result is positive, those in contact with them must be traced and they must self isolate for 14 days.
