Dubai: Education Authority Allows Schools to Opt for Distance Learning

Students in private schools in Dubai will be able to chose to continue with 100 per cent online classes instead of going to school when the new academic year starts. Following a similar decision by authorities in Abu Dhabi, Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) has said schools can as a temporary measure provide distance learning to students whose parents request it. A circular has been sent to school heads. However, it is not clear what this temporary period will be. There has not yet been a similar announcement for private schools in Sharjah or public schools in the UAE. UAE schools are reopening from 30 August 2020 onwards. Full story
