Guidance for Returning Travellers

Following the declaration that Kuwait will reopen on 1 August 2020 for commercial flights following a four month shut down a bilingual guidebook is available on social media platforms. The guide provides information on the health and safety protocols. As at present most countries are requiring travellers to have a negative COVID-19 test before flying travellers are being told to register their flight details online on www.kuwaitsafer.com and schedule a test. The airport will open in a three phased approach. The first [phase will alllow no more than 30% capacity. In addition, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation has also issued a circular to travel agencies which allows them to deduct 10 Dinars as a service charge each time they provide a refund for a ticket. An earlier circular obliged all airlines, and travel and tourism agencies operating in Kuwait to either return amounts paid or reschedule the booking without any deductions before 30 September 2020 if the cancellation occurred from 14 March to 31 July 2020. Full story
