Bahrain’s Labour and Social Development Minister has announced the General Authority for Social Insurance will pay half of the salaries of Bahraini employees working in private sector companies who have been affected by Coronavirus. 50% is the maximum amount which will be paid under this scheme. The funds will be paid from the Insurance Against Unemployment Fund. To be eligible the Bahraini employee should be covered by the insurance as of June 2020 or has been employed by the national employment programme by the end of the month which proceeds the month of payment.
