Fines for Those Not Wearing Face Masks Will be Imposed

The Chairperson of the Health Committee of Egypt’s House of Representatives has announced people who fail to wear face masks in public will be fined between 300 and 4,000 Egyptian Pounds. It follows amendments to the Infectious Diseases Law which are aimed at enhancing the authorities’ ability to tackle Coronvirus. The amendments also cover burial procedures for Coronavirus victims and those who attempt to impede their burials will be prosecuted. They will be jailed and fined between 5,000 and 10,000 Egyptian Pounds. The families of victims and a representative from the Health Ministry must be present at burials. Full story
