Public Gathering Penalties for Workers Announced

Saudi Arabia’s Interior Minister has announced the penalties for workers found taking part in public gatherings. Under the Kingdom’s lock down restrictions, public gatherings of five or more people are prohibited unless they are in labourer accommodation. Companies or relevant individuals found violating the rules for the first time will be fined 50,000 Riyals and closed for up three months. Individuals involved will be fined 5,000 Riyals. Companies or relevant individuals found violating the rules for the second time will be fined 100,000 Riyals and closed for up six months. Individuals involved will be fined 10,000 Riyals. Third time violators will have the penalties doubled and will be referred to the Public Prosecution Those attending will also be referred to the Public Prosecution. If the violator is an expatriate, they will be deported and will be banned from re-entering the Kingdom. Violations should be reported to the 999 number across the Kingdom except for Mecca where they should be reported to the 991 number. Full story
