Some Mosques to be Allowed to Reopen

Kuwait’s Awqaf and Islamic Affairs Ministry has announced some mosques in the country will be allowed to reopen from 10 June. Mosques in model residential areas and sparsely-populated areas will be able to receive worshippers for the five daily prayers from midday on 10 June. It comes as the country continues to relax its lock down restrictions. Mosques which reopen will have to comply with anti-Coronavirus measures. However, weekly Friday noon sermons and prayers will only be performed at the Grand Mosque in Kuwait City and will be broadcast on official Kuwaiti TV.
