The Qatari Cabinet has agreed a draft law which would criminalise violations of the rules on safety specifications for workers’ housing and would also increase the punishment for employers who do not pay workers. The change is part of a government commitment to increase regulation in the area of health and safety in workers housing and enhance protection of workers’ financial rights.
