Companies Impacted by COVID-19 to Be Allowed to Cut Wages

According to the Petra News Agency companies affected by COVID-19 will be allowed to cut May and June salaries of their employees by 30%. The Jordanian government had put a lockdown in place for a number of weeks which impacted businesses. However, employees cannot be forced or coerced into agreeing a salary reduction. Only companies approved by the labour and industry and commerce ministry can implement pay cuts.
