Egypt’s Cabinet has dismissed rumours that the Health Ministry is carrying out Coronavirus home testing. The Cabinet contacted the Ministry for clarification before dismissing the rumours. The Health Ministry added PCR analysis for Coronavirus is only carried out in the central laboratories of Health Ministry hospitals and some university hospitals. The Ministry’s laboratories are equipped with all the necessary medical facilities to detect the virus and ensure accurate results. The capacity of these laboratories has been increased to enable the maximum number of tests to be carried out and they are connected to sub-laboratories to ensure the test results can be confirmed as quickly as possible.
