A spokesperson for Emirates Airlines has announced no decision or announcement issued to lay off a large number of its staff has been made. The announcement followed media reports suggesting they were preparing to lay off large numbers of staff. The spokesperson added if decision is taken, it will be announced in the usual way. They went on to say that just like other airlines, the executive team have asked all departments to review costs in light of their current circumstances. They concluded by saying the CEO has issued directives to preserve the financial stability of the company and protect their trained and qualified crews as a priority. Full story
