Flexible Work System Launched

Saudi Arabia’s Human Resources and Social Development Ministry has announced a new flexible work system has been launched. It will allow flexible contractual regulation to help jobseekers work hourly and boost their income and protect the rights of all employees and employers. It will provide job seekers with opportunities and help develop their skills and experience to help them become full-time employees. It is aimed at reducing the numbers of irregular migrant workers and boosting Saudisation as well as reducing unemployment in the Kingdom. An online portal will be launched three months after the appropriate decision is issued. The new system will provide businesses with more options to choose labourers who can do urgent work without having to issue long-term contracts for temporary or seasonal jobs. Companies will also be able to use the system to meet unexpected labour demands. In addition, it will support Vision 2030 and the Kingdom’s economy. Full story
