In order to finance the budgetary needs of the State to fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, the Minister of Finance, Mr. Nizar Yaïche and the governor of the Central Bank of Tunisia (BCT), Mr. Abassi, chaired , on May 5, 2020, a ceremony to sign a syndicated loan agreement amounting to $ 1.18 billion.
This will be established with 12 national banks and will be reimbursed over 3 years. This loan, obtained in part from deposits of non-residents, will provide financial support to the state so that the latter can find additional accreditations to support businesses affected by the containment.
