Egypt’s Tourism Ministry has approved the use of a Hygiene Safety mark to allow hotels to reopen. Hotels can apply to get the mark from the Hotels Facilities Unit which has established a new Health and Safety Department to deal with this and review hotels who meet the conditions. The move is part of moves to set regulations and conditions for hotels to resume work with the Civil Aviation, Health and Housing Ministries working together on them. Hotels which violate these rules will be punished. Their licenses could be terminated and the manager banned from working in the industry. Full story
