Reopening Rules for Commercial Centres Announced

Abu Dhabi’s Economic Development Department has announced the reopening rules for commercial centres and shopping mall. The rules are contained in a new Circular. To reopen these entities must comply with the conditions and instructions announced by the Department last week. The Circular applies to Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra. Managers of these commercial centres and malls must organise special Coronavirus screening for all of its employees and obtain certification of negative results before they can reopen their stores. In addition, managers of malls and centres must implement all of the required obligations and procedures to be able to obtain approval to reopen. They will also work with the Emirate’s Health Department to conduct tests for shopping malls and centre employees at one of their designated examination centres. Alternatively, they will identify times and places where tests can be carried out in commercial facilities who want to reopen. In addition, visitors should pass through the main entrances of the commercial centres and malls, where thermal scanning cameras have been set up. Anyone with a fever or high temperature will be denied entry. The same procedures will be applied for employees of these commercial facilities before they start their daily work shifts. Full story
