Central Fruit and Vegetable Market Regulations Issued

Muscat Municipality has announced regulations for the Central Market for Vegetables and Fruits. The regulations have been introduced as part of the Sultanate’s anti-Coronavirus efforts. Under the regulations, retail activities at the Market will resume on 29 April. Retail outlets will be able to open from 12.00pm to 8.00pm except for Fridays when it will be closed for maintenance, sterilisation and cleaning. Light vehicles will be banned from the market. Instead, they will have to park in the allocated parking spaces on the market’s western side. Over 370 parking places will be provided. Individuals will enter the market through the side gates. Those visiting the market will have to wear face masks and gloves and free shopping carts will be provided to enable visitors to transport what they buy. Expatriate employees will transport goods for customers. Those aged 12 to 60 will be allowed to enter the market and wholesale trade activities will run from 4:00 am to 11:00 am. Full story
