Home Working Could be Here to Stay

Industry experts have suggested more companies are likely to allow their employees to work from home once Coronavirus is no longer an issue. Before the Coronavirus crisis, International Workplace Group had carried out a survey which found that only 10% of employers in the Emirates allowed employees to work from home for one or two days a week. Globally, the average figure is 62% of employees. Among the benefits to more employees working from home are reduced office building costs and reduced travel expenditure. It could also boost employee productivity. Dubai Future Foundation has predicted working from home will become the ‘new norm’ for companies. Experts believe the reluctance of UAE employers to allow more of their employees to work from home is partly because of visa considerations. Some employers have already started to approach recruitment agencies to recruit people to work remotely. Full story
