Labour Cases Now Being Heard Remotely

Qatar’s Supreme Judicial Council has announced labour cases are now being heard remotely by the Labour Dispute Resolution Committee. The remote system has been developed together with the Administrative Development, Labour, and Social Affairs Ministry. The cases will be held at the Ministry’s offices. A special hall equipped with visual communication tools will be set up. Employees who do not have access to the appropriate communication tools will attend the day specified for their session and to communicate visually with the judge in charge of looking into the labour dispute. The judge and other parties will have access to the visual communication tool through a link which will be sent to them by the Ministry. Cases will be heard on an urgent basis if requested by an employer or employee. Full story
