Draft Coronavirus Donations Law on the Way

The Head of the Legislative and Constitutional Affairs Committee of Egypt’s Parliament has announced they are going to submit a draft law on individual donations to the Tahya Misr Fund. The donations will be used to support the Government’s financial efforts to tackle Coronavirus. The donations will have to be made in line with the contributor’s monthly wage. Those earning over 5,000 Egyptian Pounds will donate 5% of their monthly pay while those earning more than 10,000 Pounds will contribute 10%. Those earning more than 15,000 Pounds will give 15% and those earning over 20,000 Pounds will donate 20% of their monthly earnings to the fund.
