Oman’s Manpower Ministry has announced it is establishing a committee to help those in the private sector who lose their jobs. The Committee will be chaired by the Undersecretary for Labour Affairs. Its members will include the Undersecretary of the Commerce and Industry Ministry, the Undersecretary of the Oil and Gas Ministry, the CEO of the National Centre for Employment, the Director General of Budget and Contracts at the Finance Ministry, the Director General of Manpower, the President of the General Federation of Oman Trade Unions and the Vice Chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry with responsibility for economic affairs and branches.
