As part of the measures taken against the spread of COVID-19 on Tunisian territory, the National Security Council announced on March 31, 2020, in a press release, the extension of the confinement period by two weeks, thus going until April 19, 2020.

This press release specifies in particular that the Tunisian State will reinforce the sanctions related to the lack of rigor of the people not respecting the confinement. Indeed, the latter said he was ready to revise the penal code, so that those who store food during this period of health crisis are tried as “war criminals”.

In addition, measures will be taken to support the most vulnerable people.
