Prevention of Infectious Diseases Law Amended

Qatar’s Emir has issued a Law amending the country’s 1990 Prevention of Infectious Diseases Law. Qatar Law No. 9/2020 amends Qatar Decree-Law No. 17/1990 to make it compulsory for doctors, heads of institutions and employers to report any infectious disease cases. Under the amendment, Article 4 of Qatar Decree Law No. 17/1990 has been amended to state the reporting burden will be on the doctor who examines someone who is infected or suspected of having an infectious disease.
