Telecoms Regulator Issues Directive on Mobile Disconnections

The UAE Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) has issued directions to telecoms companies telling them to put on hold the suspension and disconnection of mobile services due to the expiry of supporting documents, such as an Emirates ID.

As a result, mobile services users who have expired ID documents will not have their services disconnected or suspended, and they will not have to go in person to the service centres, or provide those documents for renewal.

This step is part of the precautionary COVID-19 measures.
