The National Assembly has approved amendments to the draft bill of the law related to the precautionary measures to prevent communicable diseases. The changes include more severe punishments.
They focus on Article 17 of Kuwait Law No. 8/1969 on precautionary health measures to prevent communicable diseases.
The amendment states those who violate this law or any of its executive decisions will be punished with a prison sentence of no more than three months and a fine of no more than 5000 Dinars or one of these punishments.
They also state that anyone who violates the decisions or measures referred to in Article 15 of Kuwait Law No. 8/1969 will be punished with a prison sentence of no more six months and a fine of no more than 10,000 Dinar or one of these penalties
In addition, anyone who purposefully tries to transmit the disease to another person will be punished with a prison sentence of no more than 10 years and a fine of no more than 30,000 Dinars or one of these two punishments.
