Non Essential Businesses to Be Closed

Bahrain has ordered all non-essential businesses to close from 26 March 2020, in response to the COVID-19 crisis. However, hypermarkets, supermarkets, cold stores, bakeries, pharmacies, and banks are allowed to remain open. A directive issued by the government’s executive committee also stated restaurants can only continue to operate on a takeaway and delivery basis only. The order requires all non-essential retail and industrial enterprises to close temporarily, from 7 pm on 26 March 2020 until 7pm on 9 April 2020.
