prison and Fines for Violating Social Distancing Guidelines

The national emergency and crisis disasters management authority and the Ministry of Interior have called on the public to adhere to the guidelines which have been issued by the health and security authorities, especially those on social distancing and prohibition of gatherings during the COVID-19 crisis.

The authority have stated violators will be subject to a prison sentence or a fine.

The ministry has also stated people should not leave their houses except for emergencies or to carry out necessary work. It has also been stated when going out with a car, there should not be more than three people in the vehicle.
